Journals and Electronic Journals

We have a collection of journals in each library. Some of these are available in hard copy whilst others shown below are accessible electronically with an NHS OpenAthens account. To register for an NHS Athens account, please click here. Your NHS OpenAthens account will also give you access to all electronic journals the Trust subscribes to. 


Browzine

BrowZine enables you to browse, read and monitor current journal content on your mobile device, laptop or desktop PC. It brings together articles from our subscribed journals and Open Access material into a single place.

  • Browse and read journals: Browse thousands of top journals by subject, easily review tables of contents, and download full articles.
  • Stay Current with My Bookshelf: Create a personal bookshelf of titles to follow and receive new article notifications.

Journal A-Z

Over 2000 full text journals are available to you online via Journals A to Z.

One searchable database brings together journals available across the NHS in England and journals purchased locally by Coventry & Warwickshire Partnership Trust, and those freely available to everyone (an OpenAthens account is required for most of the resources).

Log in to Journals A to Z using your Athens username and password, if you don’t have a Athens Account you can register here or email stmichaels.library@covwarkpt.nhs.uk

Browse the A-Z list or search directly for journals by title.

Click on the publisher link to take you to the full text. You may be asked to login, click on the ‘OpenAthens log-in link to continue.

The Journals A to Z database also covers printed journals held at CWPT Libraries.


NHS Knowledge and Library Hub

The NHS Knowledge and Library Hub connects staff and learners seamlessly to a range of high quality knowledge and evidence resources all in one place. Funded by Health Education England, the Hub is a single gateway and offers an intuitive search experience for quick searches and options for in-depth searches.

On it you can find, for example:​

  • over 7,000 journals
  • books and e-publications including OUP handbooks
  • one-click access to full-text, request a copy or contact an NHS library
  • clinical decision support tools such as BMJ Best Practice
  • NICE pathways and guidelines
  • databases like Medline, EMBASE and CINAHL
