What is OpenAthens?
An OpenAthens account is a gateway to a wide range of electronic health resources.
Users can access nationally purchased content, which includes bibliographic databases from:
- Ovid (Medline, Embase, AMED, HMIC and Emcare)
- ProQuest (PsycInfo and British Nursing Index)
- EBSCO (CINAHL)

Plus:
All NHS staff are eligible to register for an NHS OpenAthens account.
You may have previously had an OpenAthens account when you were studying at University or working at a different organisation. You can easily transfer this across to your new organisation. This will ensure that you can access all the electronic resources purchased by our organisation and also those purchased on a national basis.
