How to borrow, reserve and renew items

To be able to borrow from our collection you need to be a member of one of the Trust libraries.

If you aren’t already a member simply complete our Library Registration Form. Alternatively you can come to the library in person to join.

Renewals

You can borrow a total of sixteen items at a time, for a period of six weeks. These will automatically renew five times, unless reserved by another user. Read T&Cs for full borrowing rights.

From our online catalogue you will be able to manage your account, search for items, renew those you have borrowed and reserve items. When available books can be sent to your work base, if you are unable to visit the library.

To reserve items yourself online simply log in to the online catalogue using your Library ID and PIN

Search the Catalogue for the book/item you require.

Click on ‘Place a Reservation’ below the item.

If it is on the shelf it will be kept for you to collect or sent out to your place of work.

If you reserve an item that is out on loan the library will notify you when it is available.

From ‘My Account’ you can review your items that are checked out and on hold. From here you can Cancel Hold(s) and Edit Pickup Location(s).

Items will be renewed automatically five times (subject to recalls from other borrowers).

After the 5th renewal, you will need to contact a member of the library team for further extensions. Either in person (with or without your item(s) or by emailing your nearest Trust Library.

We may ask for proof that the book is still in your possession.
